The reputation and popularity of Brazilian wines is widespread and growing internationally.
Year after year, vintage after vintage, the number of awards for Brazilian wines in international competitions is on the rise.
The quality of our products has been approved and endorsed by many wine critics.
Many of our labels and varieties are featured on the wine lists of renowned restaurant around the world.
Here are a few examples:
In 2011, 22 Brazilian labels were included on the wine lists of 20 American restaurants and received a large number of accolades from Wine Spectator.
On the other side of the Atlantic, 9 British restaurants have added Brazilian wines to their wine lists. Four varieties featured at The River restaurant, in the Savoy Hotel are: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat and Rose.
In London, the Amber Grill, Coco Bamboo ,Galpao and Rios, offer varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Sparkling Wine and Brut Chardonnay.
Seven restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg also feature Brazilian labels.
As is the case of the three-star Michelin restaurant De Karmeliet in Bruges and Shanghai in Liege which offer Brazilian wines to their demanding customers.
Toro Y Toro, the restaurant chain that belongs to Mexican chef and restauranteur Richard Sandoval recently opened in Dubai and offers 15 labels from Miolo. Amongst them are the sparkling wines Miolo Brut and Miolo Brut Rose, Lote 43, Merlot Terroir and the Fortaleza do Seival range from the Campanha Gaucha.
Miolo wines are also featured on the wine list of CN Tower, the famous panoramic restaurant in Toronto, Canada.
Since 2010 the Japanese restaurants Zuma and Roka have incorporated wines from Lidio Carraro,Touriga Nacional ,Tannat as well as Chardonnay and Merlot on their menus.
Miolo has had labels in 2 London locations: Benares and Fifteen. The latter is the restaurant/school of popular chef Jamie Oliver, which offers Pinot Noir Reserva and Merlot Terroir. In the future, they intend to add other sparkling wines to their list.
The tradition of brewing beer in Brazil dates back to the German migration in the early nineteenth century. The first breweries date back to the 1830s. However, the brand Bohemia has claimed to be the first Brazilian beer, with production starting in 1853 in the city of Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro. Bohemia is still being produced but they are now owned by AMBEV.
Aproximately 12 billion litres of beer are produced annually in Brazil by the 4 major companies. The largest is AMBEV, which holds 70% of the Brazilian market.
In 2004 Ambev and Anheuser-Busch merge to create InBev, a Brazilian-Belgian multinational beverage and brewing company headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. Ambev's portfolio includes global brands such as Budweiser, Stella Artois, Becks and Brahma. As well as smaller multi-country brands like Alexander Keiths, Leffe, Hoegaarden, and regional brands such as Spaten, Hasserader, Lawenbrau, Bud Light, Skol, Quilmes, Harbin, Cass, and Jupiler.
In 2008, after merging with Anheuser-Busch, best known for their American beer Budweiser, Ambev sold the most beers in the United States and became the world's largest beverage company.
In 2012 they acquired Presidente beer from the Dominican Republic and Grupo Modelo which manufactures Corona in Mexico.
BRAZIL is a tropical country with large yields of fruit each year. This surplus has stimulated the creation of many types of drinks.
Due to the extensive size of the Brazilian territory and the differences in climate/temperatures between the regions, certain fruits will grow in certain areas. Apples, pears and grapes are farmed in the south, where as mangos, pineapples, and watermelons are farmed in the north. Central Brazil produces oranges, tangerines and sugarcane.
Once produced these juices are always competing in the market place with other soft drinks like Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Fanta.
Amazonian fruits like Guarana are used by the big companies in Brazil to produce a soda by the same name.
The Guarana soft drinks are the most popular and capture most of the Brazilian markets. The soft drink brands GUARANA ANTARTICA and GUARANA BRAHMA, both owned by AMBEV , have lots of factories around Brazil, one in Portugal and another one in Tokyo.

CACHACA is a Brazilian spirit that makes the most famous Brazilian drink, CAIPIRINHA.
Caipirinha is simply lime, sugar, cachaca and ice mixed together to make this delicious drink.
Other spirits like Vodka, Tequila, Whisky, are also produced in Brazil, but on a smaller scale.
For decades Brazil has fought in the international market to establish the difference between Rum and Cachaca and define the Brazilian origin of this product.
The fundamental difference between RUM and CACHACA is: RUM is made from the by-product of the sugar manufacturing process and CACHACA is produced from the sugar cane.
In 2012, US President Obama signed a decree recognizing CACHACA as a Brazilian spirit. This resulted in the creation of a specific tax code for cachaca, which had previously been exported to the whole world as RUM.
There are more than 8,000 CACHACA brands registered at the Ministry of Agriculture. Out of these 8,000, no more than 100 brands control the internal and export market. The other ones are regional cachacas, distributed all over Brazil.
Therefore, the different ways the Cachaca is processed and manufactured results in a different end product which can be divided further into two categories: Craft and Industrial.
During the craft process, only bronze equipment is used. Resting and aging are just two of the countless examples of the care the manufacturers takes with the product.
During the industrial process, stainless steel equipment is used. The bottling process is continuous and the volume produced is greater.
When deciding on a good cachaca it's necessary take into account the manufacturers tradition and handling of the product. If you want to consume pure cachaca, it needs to be aged in oak barrels or another wood, usually gold in colour. For drinks with fruit or other mixers, the Crystal cachaca is a better choice.
Fruits from the Amazon jungle, fruits from the coast, fruits from the heat of Northeast, fruits from the cold South, and fruits from the desert climate in the Midwest. There are many varieties fruits, in Brazil and lots of different juices to enjoy.
Unfortunately, not all of them can be industrialized and available to the world. However, even with this limitation, thereÂ´s more still more to offer than just the normal Orange, Pineapple, Strawberry, Grape, Peach, and Apple.
Here are some of the fruits whose juices are enjoyed in several region of Brazil: Guarana, Acai, Acerola, Graviola, Cupuacu, Mango, Caju, Passionfruit, Pitanga, Guava, Caja, Tapereba, Tucuma, and Araca .
For the native people of Brazil each fruit has its own history, tradition and medicinal properities. Acai is high in antioxidants, Passionfruit is a tranquillizer, Guarana is a stimulant and Cupuacu is an aphrodisiac.
